The
pantomime, "PETER PAN",
broke all box office records at the Westcliff Theatre in Southend in
December 2000. Shane appeared as the villain, Hook. It turned out, incidentally,
that he was a 'very nice man'.
In the summer of 2000, Shane toured with his own
one-man show. Some 30 dates were put on all over the UK. A mix of comedy
and song demostrated Shane's versatility to those who were only familiar
with the tv game show host.
In
"ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST"
in 2007, Shane reprised the role of Randle P McMurphy, made famous by
Jack Nicholson.
THE
STAGE REVIEW
"SCROOGE THE MUSICAL" toured
the country in 2005 and 2007 with Shane in the lead role.
Music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. M.E.N.
REVIEW
In "LONE STAR AND
PRIVATE WARS", staged at the King's Head Theatre in
2007, Shane appeared with James Jagger. This double bill revolved around
Vietnam veterans and was written by James McLure.
"....But at the very heart and soul of
this production is Richie, who pours himself into his roles with complete
abandon and triumphs. This is a wonderful evening's entertainment."
- DAVID GIBBS, Islington Gazette.
